Pictures of the 2011 Round the Island windsurfing race. Glorious sunny day, little wind and 140 or so competitors. The start was a "Le Mans" style sprint from the beach at Hayling Island Sailing Club (HISC) , going anti clockwise round the island towards Emsworth, under the bridge, through Langston Harbour, along the sea front, finishing back at the beach at HISC.
There was large flotilla of safety boats escorting them round the island including Zapcats along the seafront and of course the ever present Hayling Rescue ready to leap into action if needed.
There was a minibus touring the island to pick up the people who dropped out.
